Mouse Anti-Human MBP (aa84 89)
Mouse anti MBP antibody, clone 22 recognizes an epitope between amino acids 84 and 89 of human myelin basic protein, also known as MBP, Myelin A1 protein or Myelin membrane encephalitogenic protein. MBP is a 304 amino acid ~33 kDa abundant component of the myelin membrane. There are 6 potential isoforms of MBP generated by alternative splicing, 4 of which lack the N-terminal region containing the immunogen sequence. Mouse anti MBP antibody, clone 22 is expected to recognize isoforms 1 and 2 (UniProt: P02686). The N-terminal region of MBP is highly conserved and Mouse anti MBP antibody, clone 22 is expected to be broadly species cross reactive for isoforms maintaining the N-terminal region. Mouse anti MBP antibody, clone 22 has been reported as suitable for use in western blotting (Chignola et al. 2000).
